Paperartsy Watercolour Challenge and a Giveway

Hi, back again, this time with step by step pics for the challenge over on the Paperartsy Blog.  Also over the next two weeks I shall be doing another 5 Paperartsy posts and a giveaway which will end on the 19th March.  The giveaway is my all time favourite brand Paperartsy.  All you need to to is comment on each of the 6 posts that has Paperartsy at the beginning of the title and you will get a chance to win some stamps, paint, stencil and watercolours (pic at end of post).
So this post is all about the challenge which is Watercolour.  I have shown you step by step using the paints, the infusions, sprays as watercolour. Plus put some links to That's Crafty (in the product list at the end) where I buy all my Paperartsy goodies.

I just love how this turned out, I had no idea what it was going to be
so it was great fun to play and be in the moment.

Here I am putting the paint in little cups with some water, I just added what I thought lol

I love how when you drip the watered paint into the water on the paper it just spreads.

Did this with a mark making tool.  Just flicked here and there.

I dried this first layer with a heat gun.

Started repeating the above.

Added some white.

More colour.

Second layer dry.

Next watered down white fire.

Dried again.

Next the infusions plus a little salt, wasn't sure how it would react but it gave great texture in the end.

Dried third layer.

Close up of texture.

Next using mark making tools and the paint colours not watered down.

A felt pen lid.

Here is a little foam stamp I made.

Some bead gel through a stencil.

I love how it sucks up the infusions.

Some drippage with water and pen work.

Splashes with paint and then stencil for the Embrace plus the chit chat sticker.  I also outlined the embrace with white pen but I didn't take a pic.

The Giveaway .........................................................
Remember to comment on each of the posts (this plus 5 others) for a chance of the giveaway.  If you comment on all the posts then you get 6 chances in the giveaway.

I shall be back in the week with more Paperartsy projects.  Just me showing you how wonderful their products are especially the paint.

Happy Art :-)

Winner - Dina Wakley Giveaway

Hi all, yes I know, I bet you thought I had disappeared.  I'm afraid December went from not too bad to horrible.  I had my back injections looking forward to be running about after 5 days. I had for a few days before thought I had been suffering from sinus, the pain in my cheek felt awful. 4 days after my injections I was in agony, I realised that it was my tooth.  Went to dentist a week before Christmas to find out I had an abscess that had spread, yuk.  They wouldn't take it out until I had 5 days of antibiotics.  Of course that meant it was going to be after Christmas for the tooth to come out.  The abscess didn't go with the antibiotics and Christmas Eve (a sunday!!!) we were paying for a private dentist, who still wouldn't take it out as said it was still very infected.  So Christmas ended up a bit miserable but I put a smile on my face (well I got a new samsung tablet and paint, lots of smiles lol.  The antibiotics finished New Year's Eve but instead of going to dentist on the 2nd I was in hospital having my gall bladder out which didn't got as well as I would have liked.  So after a couple of days in hospital and three weeks of painful healing (stupid scar wouldn't heal grrrrr) I was ready to start feeling back to my normal self when that familiar pain came back, the stupid abscess.  After two more weeks of antibiotics the tooth came out at last.  They truly are right when people say there is nothing worse then toothache.  I'm used to bad back pain but the tooth I was crying like a baby.

Anyway at last I'm back, feeling good (touch wood).  I did sort of go through a depressed time thinking that this year was going to be like last year but finally that feeling has gone and I'm back to working and doing lots of art.

I will be back later today with my next venture (my favourite Paperartsy) plus a giveaway, but it's only for two weeks (nothing hopefully should go wrong in two weeks lol)

SO .................................. I numbered each comment from first post to last post a total of 44 comments and miss random org has done it's thing and .......................................

Sorry I had to take a pic as I never can work out how to get the random thingy on my blog lol.

Congratulations Tracey please if you could message me via Facebook KezzyArt with your address.  If you can't just comment here and I will try a different way,

Right I shall be off, I have another post to type up while I'm on a roll.  See you later :-)

Dina Wakley 6th Post & Giveaway

Hi ya, back again for my last post showing Dina Wakley products.  I can assure you they will be more lol as I love her products and of course there will be some new ones in January.  Next year I am planning on showing lots of different paints etc purely to get me into using everything I have.  Initially it was to start January but I shall be having an operation to remove my gall bladder so realistically it will be February.  But you never know lol.
Of course this isn't my last post of the year, I have got some crimbo posts as well. Today is a journal page and is a full tutorial of a nice peaceful beach.  Don't forget if you comment on any of the 6 posts showcasing Dina's products then you will have a chance of winning in the giveaway (picture at the bottom).  There is a full product list at the end of the post, I have linked the products to That's Crafty which is a UK shop that I get all my Dina products from :-). All products are Dina's unless stated.

Here is my super calm beach scene :-)

Some close up pics

Step by Step ......................................

Here is the burlup page ready for adding some sand!!!

I used Prima 3D Heavy Gel with a palette knife

I covered the whole page with sand and let it set overnight.
The sand is toy sand.

I wasn't over impressed with the finished result.

So I tried again.  I used Dina's Gel Medium

Then mixed loads of sand in it until it was solid.

Next I added more Dina gel medium.

Then I added the sand I mixed

This is when it was dried overnight.

I used some watered down cheddar to colour the page.  I was going to use
umber as well but didn't in the end.

Next I mixed a bit of umber with the cheddar and glazing medium.

I added this colour with a brush in areas then used a wipe to wipe some of it off.

On the other page I used Stencil mighty waves and Ranger texture paste.

Next I played around with what colours I would use.

I mixed ocean and everygreen and sky with turquoise.

I painted the waves and sprayed water in areas.

I sprayed Ranger Perfect Pearl Mists - turquoise on the sea and heirloom gold on the

I used cheesecloth for the waves.

I painted the waves with white.

For the sky I used white with sky, lapis, and turquoise.

While the sky dried I used some white on the waves

I added a second coat with the same colours.

I painted some starfish with ruby and blushing

I added a touch of sterling on the top and then wiped some off.

I crushed some bought shells.

I added some white clouds.

I added the starfish and shells with 3D gel.

I added some darker colours to the waves - ocean and a bit of evergreen.

I added some night with a sponge.

Then reworked the sky with the earlier colours and white.

Next some more clouds.

I wanted to darker the wave colours so I added some night and then glazing medium.

I added the paint

Then reworked it with a dry brush.

I did these to also make shadows around the waves.

This is what it looked like after all the shadowing had been done.

I mixed ruby and everygreen with some cheddar to make a darker sand colour.

I then added shading to the sand.

I decided that the starfish needed more sparkle so I used some Prima
acrylic paint in coral reef.
I then added the wording with Idea-ology label letters and
used a stabilo pencil in black to shade around them.

The giveaway

Right I shall be off.  I will be drawing the winner Monday evening at 6pm GMT.  I will then let the winner know Monday evening.  Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Happy Art :-)
